TO THE FIRST WORSHIP SERVICE OF THE GRANT COUNTY CHURCH OF CHRIST:
THANK YOU FOR JOINING US FOR
"WORSHIP THE WAY IT USED TO BE!"
"Stand in the ways and see, And ask for the old paths, where the good way is, And walk in it; Then you will find rest for your souls (Jeremiah 6:16).
ABOUT US:
The Grant County church of Christ is a friendly, enthusiastic, growing church, while retaining the simple, pleasant atmosphere of a by-gone era.
At the Grant County church of Christ we are committed to restoring New Testament Christianity to its pure form according to the New Testament example.
Many Americans have grown up in close-knit, rural, neighborhood congregations. Worship services in these churches were quiet, dignified, orderly and reverent. A God as awesome as Jehovah must be worshipped this way. "Oh, worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness! Tremble before Him, all the earth" (Psalms 96:9).
At the Grant County church of Christ, you will experience "Worship the Way It Used to Be."
Our preaching is enthusiastic and Bible-centered (2 Timothy 4:2).
Our singing is a cappella and congregational, (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16).
We partake of the Lord’s Supper every first day of the week, in memory of our Savior’s death on the cross (Acts 20:7).
We offer up prayers of thanksgiving, praise and cries for help through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ (Colossians 3:17)
We give of our means as we have been prospered (1 Corinthians 16:1-2; 2 Corinthians 8:5; 9:6-11).
Our worship is designed to be decent and orderly with the focus upon God Himself (1 Corinthians 14:40).
Thank you for being with us on this very special day!

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
The beginning of the Grant County church of Christ is a monumental task! Obviously, such an effort as this does not just happen by itself. An enormous group of volunteers has worked to bring this great work about.
1. First and foremost let us thank God. The way this work has fallen into place, leaves no room to doubt His involvement in it!
2. Secondly we must thank the elders of the Lehman Avenue church of Christ in Bowling Green, Kentucky. These men had the vision, skills and resources to initiate this project and to see it through to the end.
3. Then we must thank the members of the Lehman Avenue church as well. They have been called upon time and again to sacrifice for this work and they have exceeded what was asked of them every time. With special contributions, work days, pew hauling, book-keeping, banking and a myriad of other details like the godly Macedonians of old "…I bear witness that according to their ability, yes, and beyond their ability, they were freely willing… And not only as we had hoped, but they first gave themselves to the Lord, and then to us by the will of God" (2 Corinthians 8:3-5).
4. Equally as important as any other aspect of the work has been the tremendous volunteer effort of the remodeling crew from the Summit church of Christ in Cold Spring, KY. Dan, Ken, Harold and Bill have worked nearly every weekday since November just as if they were getting paid! They have also been assisted by many other volunteers. Together they have produced an excellent facility that will serve well in the Lord’s work here.
5. We would also like to thank the members of the church here in Grant County who have prayed and worked for many years to have a congregation that follows the "Old Paths" in their community.
6. Kim Jewell deserves special acknowledgement for setting up and maintaining the Grant County church of Christ web site.
7. We would also like to thank all of our supporting congregations. It takes a great deal of money to start a church in the U.S. and you have come through beyond what we could possibly have expected.
I am sure that there are others whom we have not mentioned specifically, but please know that we are thankful to all who have helped in making this day a reality.
