HOW GREAT THOU ART!

Have you ever just sat and wondered about the shear majesty of Almighty God? A God who could simply speak into existence the massive, complicated universe that has baffled the best human minds for centuries? A God who could love mankind enough to buy him back from destruction even though he had blatantly disobeyed Him? A God who could form from the dust of the ground the most complicated form of life ever created? A God who could simply “breath into his nostrils” and cause the man to become a living human being?
When one thinks about how great God is and how little mankind respects Him, it saddens the heart. When Jesus was asked about the most important or first of the commandments, He readily replied, “Thou shalt love the Lord they God with all thy heart, soul, mind and strength” (Mark 12:30). So many of the problems of mankind could be solved if we only followed these guidelines and always put God first! Our church buildings would be full, benevolent work would be done by every member, mission work would be in the forefront and love for one another would abound!
As you go about your busy week, please stop now and then and think about how great and awesome our God really is.
“O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder, consider all the worlds thy hands have made, I see the stars and hear the rolling thunder, Thy powers throughout the universe displayed. Then sings my soul, my Savior, God to Thee, how great Thou art, how great Thou art, Then sings my soul, my Savior, God to Thee, How great Thou art, How great Thou art!”



BE AN ACTIVE MEMBER

Be an active member:
The kind that would be missed
Don’t just be contented
That your name is on the list.
Do attend the meeting
And mingle with the crowd.
Don’t just stay at home
And fuss both long and loud.
Take time out to visit
A member who is sick.
Don’t leave the work for just a few
And gripe about the clique!
There’s quite a program scheduled
That means success, if done.
And it can be accomplished
With the help of everyone.
So attend the services faithfully
And help with hand and heart,
Be an active member
And take an active part!
