ANGER WITHOUT SIN

TEXT: "Be angry and sin not: let not the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil" (Ephesians 4:26-27).

INTRODUCTION:

  1. We live in an angry society.
  2. Have you ever felt really guilty for being angry.
  3. Perhaps you said to yourself, "Christians should not get angry like this."
  4. The Bible does warn us of the dangers of anger: Ephesians 4:31-32; James 1:19-20
  5. Yet Jesus who never sinned became angry on occasion.
  6. So there is an anger that is sin and one that is without sin.
  7. What’s the difference?
  1. ANGER WITHOUT SIN IS UNSELFISH: John 2:14-17
  2. ANGER WITHOUT SIN DOES NOT LOSE CONTROL:
  3. ANGER WITHOUT SIN DOES NOT HOLD ON:
  4. ANGER WITHOUT SIN GIVES NO PLACE TO THE DEVIL:

CONCLUSION:

  1. Test your anger to make certain it is without sin.
  2. Is it an unselfish anger?
  3. Is it a controlled anger?
  4. Is it a temporary anger?
  5. Is it and anger which gives place to the devil?
  6. What kind of people care whether or not their anger is sinful?
  7. Christian people.
  8. Controlling our anger protects our influence.
  9. Helps us shine our light and makes us better servants.
