REVIVAL
TEXT: Psalm 85
INTRODUCTION: There is a very important principle in this passage as we allow the revival to take root in our lives.
I. REVIVAL INVOLVES SEPARATION AND DENIAL.
A. Separation and self-denial go hand in hand. I Kings 8:53
B. True spiritual growth which will bring other types of growth means that we should strive to live like Jesus. 2 Corinthians 6:14-18
II. REVIVAL INVOLVES HOLINESS AND MORAL PURITY.
A. Holiness is the act of being righteous in God’s presence. Hebrews 12:14
B. Jesus pointed out a blessing upon the pure in heart. Matthew 5:8
III. REVIVAL INVOLVES GRACE AND GENTLENESS.
A. The apostles lived a life of grace. Acts 4:33
B. Paul was tender and gentle with his contacts. I Thessalonians 2:7
IV. REVIVAL INVOLVES HUMILITY AND TENDERNESS.
A. Humility must be a part of our lives if we have revival carryover. Acts 20:19
B. We must be tender in our relationships with each other. Ephesians 4:32
V. REVIVAL INVOLVES ZEAL AND ENERGY.
A. Christians should be zealous for God and His work. Numbers 25:13
B. In order to be zealous for God we must have energy. Titus 2:14
VI. REVIVAL INVOLVES PATIENCE AND LONGSUFFERING.
A. Oh, how patience is needed if the revival continues. Colossians 1:11
B. Longsuffering means bearing with each other. Colossians 1:11
VII. REVIVAL INVOLVES FAITHFULNESS AND
UNCOMPROMISING DECISIONS.
A. Jesus is our greatest example of faithfulness. Hebrews 3:2
B. We need to be people of uncompromising decisions. Daniel 3:14-18
